Jakarta (ANTARA) - Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Tjahjo Kumolo issued Circular Letter Number 17 of 2021 on the disciplined implementation of health protocols by State Apparatus (ASN) as a model to prevent COVID-19 transmission..

The circular regulates the instructions that all ASN should implement strict health protocols at government offices and their respective residences.

In addition, the circular, signed by Kumolo, urges all regional and central government agencies to optimize the COVID-19 Task Force in each government office as the center of the crisis.

"Staff supervisory officials should optimize the COVID-19 Task Force as a crisis center in their respective agencies," Kumolo emphasized.

According to the circular, to prevent the transmission of COVID-19, all ASN should wear masks, practice clean living, wash hands with soap and running water, maintain distance, stay away from crowds, and limit human interaction.

Kumolo elaborated that while working in office, all ASN are necessitated to limit and maintain distance of at least one meter (three feet) inside elevators and with their co-workers.

The circular stipulates that they should clean their work areas with disinfectants, wear double masks, and not shake hands.

Kumolo noted that in their respective residences, all ASN are required to clean themselves before entering the house; wash clothes and cloth masks; cut disposable masks before throwing them away; and clean mobile phones, glasses, and bags.

All ASN must also actively have a positive influence on the handling of COVID-19 by inviting their families and surrounding communities to comply with health protocols and to participate in vaccination, according to the circular.

They should also convey positive information related to the government's handling of COVID-19 and not spread misinformation, the circular stated.

"State apparatus should not create and spread fake news (hoax), slander, and provocations related to COVID-19 handling," Kumolo remarked. Related news: Task force blames COVID spike on poor compliance with health protocols
