KCI President Director Asdo Artriviyanto said the train will enter service once it completes its testing phase.
“It must be operational this year—everything is proceeding according to plan. INKA is currently conducting endurance and parameter testing,” he said on Tuesday.
Between January 30 and May 22, KCI added eight new train sets to its fleet: seven from China’s CRRC Qingdao Sifang and one from INKA.
Five of the CRRC-made trains are already in operation, while the remaining two are still undergoing testing.
The INKA-built train is currently completing a 4,000-kilometer endurance test and technical evaluation, which are required for certification by the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA).
“Once the endurance and parameter tests are complete, the DJKA will issue the certification. Only then can the train enter service,” Artriviyanto explained.
He added that KCI plans to expand its fleet further this year.
“We expect to receive more than 10 new train sets in total, including 11 CLI-125 units from China and additional units from INKA,” he said.
