Only the two-state solution can end the conflict,Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto reaffirmed Indonesia’s support for Palestinian independence on Friday, emphasizing that a two-state solution is the only way to achieve lasting peace for both Palestine and Israel.
“We continue to support Palestine’s independence. Only the two-state solution can end the conflict,” he said after a meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Friday.
He underscored the importance of global cooperation in efforts to achieve a peaceful resolution to the Israel-Palestine conflict.
“Indonesia and Malaysia see the need for global collective efforts to encourage a peaceful resolution of the conflict,” he added.

Prabowo has repeatedly highlighted Indonesia’s stance on the Israel-Palestine issue in bilateral meetings, including during talks with French President Emmanuel Macron in Jakarta on May 28, 2025, where he called on Israel to immediately recognize the sovereignty of the State of Palestine.
He has consistently stressed in various forums that the two-state solution is the only path to achieving genuine peace in the region.
Indonesia’s position on the Israel-Palestine conflict aligns with the mandate of the country’s 1945 Constitution, whose preamble commits the nation to participating in efforts to build a world order based on freedom, lasting peace, and social justice.
Earlier in the day, President Prabowo welcomed Prime Minister Anwar at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in Jakarta around 1 p.m. local time. The two leaders then traveled together to Merdeka Palace in the same vehicle.
At the palace, they held a bilateral meeting to discuss key issues, including bilateral relations, regional dynamics in Southeast Asia, and global challenges.
