Tangerang (ANTARA) - National carrier Garuda Indonesia has resumed its Jakarta–Doha flight service after Qatar’s airspace reopened, following recent conflict escalation in the Middle East.

The round-trip route, which resumed on Saturday (June 28), is the result of a comprehensive assessment and close coordination between Garuda Indonesia and its operational partner, Qatar Airways, Garuda Indonesia’s Director of Operations, Tumpal M. Hutapea, noted in a written statement received in Tangerang on Saturday.

"This decision is supported by information from the relevant international authorities. It also reflects the improving geopolitical conditions in the Middle Eastern airspace,” Hutapea stated.

Several other international airlines have also resumed flights to the Qatar region.

Garuda Indonesia will continue to closely monitor regional developments in coordination with the relevant aviation authorities to ensure operational safety on this route.

“This is being done in cooperation with aviation authorities in both Indonesia and Qatar, as well as with Qatar Airways,” he remarked.

He emphasized that intensive monitoring of flight activity in the Middle East will remain a priority to ensure the service recovery process proceeds smoothly and safely.

Garuda Indonesia has advised all passengers traveling to and from Doha to regularly check their flight status through the official Garuda Indonesia website, mobile app, or by contacting the 24-hour Contact Center at 0804 1 807 807 (domestic) or +62 21 2351 9999 (international).
