“This commitment is part of our empowerment program for people with disabilities,” Head of the Depok Manpower Office, Sidik Mulyono, stated in Depok on Wednesday.
The initiative included distributing coffee-making equipment at Rumah Autis in Sukmajaya Sub-district, aimed at enhancing practical, income-generating job skills for people with disabilities.
The assistance comes in the form of coffee machines, grinders, steam kettles, manual brewing tools, and barista training equipment.
Sidik emphasized that this support reflects the Depok City Government’s tangible efforts to promote social and economic inclusion.
“We believe that every individual, including those with disabilities, has the potential to grow and thrive. Through barista skills training, we hope they can start their businesses or find employment in the growing culinary sector,” he remarked.
Sidik also noted that Rumah Autis Depok can make the most of the available resources to develop these skills and create a unique business unit. This, in turn, could inspire others and help reduce unemployment in the city.
“We also hope this initiative will encourage the growth of inclusive job training units throughout Depok and support the ongoing ‘Depok Friendly for Disabilities’ movement,” he remarked.
Meanwhile, Head of Rumah Autis Depok, Suyono, expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the support.
“We are truly thankful for this assistance from the Depok Manpower Office. This kind of support is exactly what we need to help our students gain practical skills,” he remarked.
“This way, they can learn, become independent, and be ready to enter the workforce, either through formal employment or by starting their own businesses,” he concluded.
