"This is the government's task, in line with the President's mission to create as many jobs as possible through priority programs," said Noudhy Valdryno, PCO's Deputy for Dissemination and Information Media, in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Among the key initiatives are the Red and White Village Cooperatives and the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programs, which are designed to benefit a wide segment of the population.
"We hope these programs will have a multiplier effect in the regions — not just concentrated in big cities, but also driving economic growth and employment in villages and provinces throughout Indonesia," Valdryno said.
He emphasized that the jobs created will consider the qualifications and educational backgrounds of the workforce to ensure they offer decent income and match workers' capacities.
Valdryno noted that the Red and White Village Cooperatives, launched by President Prabowo Subianto on Monday, are expected to benefit rural communities, including by creating employment within cooperative management structures.
This initiative, he said, aligns with the President's vision for village cooperatives to become engines of inclusive economic growth, driven by active grassroots participation.
"These cooperatives are also intended to generate job opportunities in rural areas, reducing the need for young people to migrate to urban centers in search of work," he said.
"This is the primary goal of programs like the Red and White Village Cooperatives: to create decent, high-quality jobs across Indonesia."
