During the meeting, he also received a report from Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati on several important APBN agendas that are currently being discussed in the House of Representatives (DPR).
“The President’s directives are very comprehensive. Reforms on the state revenue side will continue to be implemented so that we can obtain adequate state revenue. Spending will be focused on important programs,” Indrawati said at a press conference after the meeting on Tuesday evening.
She was accompanied by her two deputy ministers, Suahasil Nazara and Thomas Djiwandono, at the press conference.
During the meeting, the President also asked Indrawati and her staff to maintain the state budget deficit at a healthy level and to ensure that the APBN continues to support national economic growth.
“He said that if market confidence can be maintained, our economy will continue to grow. The State Budget will continue to support economic growth, so countercyclical measures can be implemented,” she added.
Prabowo not only discussed the fiscal framework with his ministers, but also emphasized the importance of deregulation measures to create a conducive business climate and encourage sustainable economic growth.
“The President emphasized the need for various deregulation measures so that the economy can grow, not always relying on the APBN,” Indrawati said.
“So, in this case, various regulatory improvements will facilitate business, investment, and trade, and especially encourage more funding and good governance,” she informed.
She added that Prabowo will provide details on the complete performance of the APBN in his state address at the DPR Plenary Session on August 15, 2025.
“So, stay tuned for August 15th, based on the directions the President has conveyed to us,” she said.
Earlier, Prabowo had held a similar meeting on the optimization of special economic zones (SEZs) with Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto; Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi; and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
