He made the statement after reviewing the disbursement of BSU funds at the Pekanbaru Post Office, Riau, on Monday. He was accompanied by Riau Governor Abdul Wahid and Pekanbaru Mayor Agung Nugroho.
“Earlier, the governor and mayor also oversaw the BSU disbursement process. And in Pekanbaru, Riau, the disbursement process has gone smoothly, almost 100 percent done. I have a message: there should be no cuts; the disbursement process should run smoothly,” Gibran added.
He then noted that the BSU distribution in Pekanbaru has proceeded smoothly.
He also reminded recipients to use the BSU funds, Rp600 thousand (US$36.59) per worker for a two-month period, wisely for productive activities.
He stressed that BSU funds must not be used for online gambling. “And I just gave a message to the aid recipients: use the aid for productive purposes. Don’t use it for judol (online gambling). I’ve repeated this message at every BSU distribution site,” he said.
On the same occasion, Minister of Manpower, Yassierli, reported that the BSU funds have so far reached more than 14 million workers. “To date, 92.25 percent has been disbursed, and the national total has reached 14.715 million people,” he informed.
