Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said that the government had disbursed Rp13.6 trillion (approximately US$835 million) in economic stimulus packages, as of the end of June 2025.
She stated that the attempt aims to safeguard national economic stability and consumer purchasing power.

“The economic stimulus package has reached Rp13.6 trillion by the end of June. This is expected to strengthen the momentum of our national economy,” she noted during a press conference, as quoted here on Tuesday.

In total, the government had allocated Rp24.4 trillion (US$1.5 billion) for stimulus packages in the second quarter of 2025, which spans several programs to support households and key industries.

First, there was included a Rp940 billion (US$57 million) transportation subsidy, including a government-paid 6 percent Value-Added Tax (VAT) on economy-class airline tickets.

The government also gave a 30 percent discount on train fares and a 50 percent reduction on sea transport fares throughout June and July 2025 to boost domestic tourism and logistics.

Another key program is social assistance, with a budget of Rp11.93 trillion (US$733 million), which provides an extra Rp200 thousand (US$12) monthly grocery allowance and 10 kilograms (kg) of rice for 18.3 million low-income families in June and July.

Wage Subsidy Assistance (BSU) totaling Rp10.72 trillion (US$658 million) was also distributed in June to nearly 17 million workers earning up to Rp3.5 million per month (US$215) and 565 thousand teachers.

Additional subsidies include a Rp650 billion (US$40 million) toll road discount, offering 20 percent off toll fees for 110 million drivers during the mid-year period.

Another Rp200 billion (US$12 million) was allocated to extend a 50 percent discount on Work Accident Insurance (JKK) premiums for labor-intensive industries, now valid through January 2026.

“These policies are designed to maintain industrial competitiveness and protect consumer spending,” Sri Mulyani said.
