The visit was part of the vice president’s two-day working trip to the province, which started on Friday (Feb 1).
During the market tour, Vice President Gibran was seen purchasing a variety of kitchen staples, including shallots, garlic, chili peppers, palm sugar, tempeh, and other food items.
“I have bought chili, shallots, palm sugar, and many more,” Gibran stated with a smile as he greeted vendors and local residents who welcomed him warmly.
The vice president's visit aimed not only to observe price stability and market conditions but also to engage directly with traders and the local community.

NTB Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal noted that Gibran's enthusiasm for purchasing local products reflects his support for farmers and small-scale businesses in the region.
“He bought a lot of things—he came with a special aircraft, so he could carry many items. All the commodities produced in Lombok were purchased by the vice president,” Iqbal remarked.
Istikomah, a shallot vendor at Kebon Roek Market, expressed pride after her goods were bought directly by the vice president.
“Thank you, Mr. Vice President, for buying my products. I am so proud and very happy,” she stated.
