Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian National Alms Agency (Baznas) has prepared 55 thousand food aid packages for Palestinians affected by the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, specifically to prevent the spread of famine threatening civilians, including children and elderly.

The food aid packages consist of basic ingredients and ready-to-eat meals for immediate consumption, including rice, flour, instant noodles, cheese, tuna, date biscuits, juice, energy bars, dates, nuts, as well as sauces and spices.

"This aid comes from a trust of the Indonesian people collected through Baznas. We want to ensure this aid reaches those most in need in Palestine," Baznas Chairman Noor Achmad noted in an official statement received here on Wednesday.

"This aid is a trust from the Indonesian people, collected through Baznas. We want to ensure it reaches those in dire need in Palestine," Baznas RI Chairman Noor Achmad noted in an official statement received here on Wednesday.

Achmad stated that Baznas is collaborating with three partner institutions: Bait Zakah, Misr Kheir, and Shunna'ul Hayah.

Through Bait Zakah, 35 thousand aid packages have been prepared, packed into 29 containers, with a total value of US$500 thousand.

"Meanwhile, 8,500 packages each were prepared by Misr Kheir and Shunna'ul Hayah, each in seven containers, with a value of US$125 thousand, or approximately Rp2 billion, per institution," he explained.

In addition to the Egyptian route, he stated that Baznas also distributed three thousand aid packages through Jordan in collaboration with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), with a total value of similar aid of US$125 thousand.

"This aid is tailored to nutritional needs and logistical conditions on the ground. All materials have been packaged to standards that allow for long-term storage and distribution," he remarked.

Currently, all containers are being shipped to Arish, an Egyptian border city that serves as the main gateway to Gaza.

He confirmed that his office is coordinating intensively to ensure the distribution process is carried out until the aid reaches Gaza and is received by the affected residents.

"We will continue to monitor and ensure that the distribution process is safe, transparent, and on target. We ask for everyone's prayers, so that this aid can reach the Palestinian people soon," he remarked.
