Jakarta (ANTARA) - Trade Minister Budi Santoso announced that Indonesia and Peru will officially sign their Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) on August 11, 2025.

"The President of Peru (Dina Boluarte) will come here on the 11th, and the agreement has been completed," he stated here on Thursday.

In addition to Peru, the CEPA between Indonesia and Canada and the Indonesia–Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement (I-EAEU FTA) are expected to be finalized by the end of 2025.

Furthermore, the Indonesia–European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA) is scheduled to be signed in September, with negotiations now in the final stage.

The Indonesian government and the European Commission have exchanged letters as a form of high-level political agreement to accelerate the conclusion of IEU-CEPA talks.

According to Santoso, Indonesia is actively working to finalize several trade agreements before the end of the year.

"This year, we aim to complete and sign many trade agreements. The hope is that our market and exports will grow, and our global reach will expand," he said.

The minister added that these agreements will ease Indonesia’s access to export markets worldwide.

President Boluarte’s upcoming visit to Indonesia is a reciprocal visit following President Prabowo Subianto’s visit to Peru in November 2024. During that meeting, both leaders explored cooperation in multiple areas, from economic partnership to drug eradication.
