Jakarta (ANTARA) - Housing and Residential Area Minister Maruarar Sirait stated here on Friday that subsidized housing must be made available nationwide to achieve social justice for all.

Sirait noted that the government consistently promotes housing financing assistance, such as the Liquidity Housing Financing Facility (FLPP) managed by the Public Housing Savings Management Agency (BP Tapera).

He remarked that BP Tapera had inked a collaboration agreement with the Home Affairs Ministry that outlines the Home Affairs Ministry's support in collecting data on civil servants eligible to apply for FLPP assistance.

The minister remarked that all innovations and breakthroughs in the program are made possible through collaborations among all stakeholders.

"As minister, admittedly, I feel that my authority is limited. However, I am thankful to have partners in the Red and White Cabinet who fully support programs in the housing sector," he affirmed.

The minister urged BP Tapera to allocate funding for the staff of the Home Affairs Ministry.

"However, many civil servants need it. Please (allocate) for that," he noted.

On the same occasion, Commissioner of BP Tapera Heru Pudyo Nugroho stated that following the Housing and Residential Area Ministry's directives, they have allocated two thousand units for the Home Affairs Ministry's staff members.

Furthermore, based on the data collected, some 1,190 of these staff members have expressed interest in utilizing the financing scheme to obtain housing.
