"Everyone must collaborate to address women's and children's issues. We are grateful that the Central Leadership of the Wanita Syarikat Islam (WSI) is willing to join hands with the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection," she said in Jakarta on Friday.
She made the statement while welcoming Valina Singka Subekti, Chairwoman of the WSI Central Leadership, to build some collaborative efforts to realize women's empowerment and child protection in Indonesia.
She highlighted the alarming trend of sexual violence against women and children in Indonesia.
According to her, that situation has reached an emergency stage, requiring stronger protection.
“The causes are economic factors, parenting styles, and gadget abuse, which have eroded emotional closeness. Furthermore, religious values are increasingly being forgotten, leading to a decline in morals,” she stated.

Meanwhile, Subekti stated that the WSI strives to strengthen family resilience through premarital courses and the Samawa family counseling agency.
"WSI prioritizes social programs, da'wah, and education, aimed at strengthening Islamic religious understanding to strengthen family resilience, including through premarital courses and the Samawa family counseling agency," she said.
WSI was actively involved in championing issues of gender equality and justice, as well as the protection of women and children.
WSI also encouraged the fulfillment of the 30 percent quota for women's representation in parliament as part of efforts to realize a civilized and humane political life in Indonesia based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution.
On the same occasion, WSI highlighted the rise of online gambling and loans.
Subekti urged the government to pay serious and systematic attention and address the existence of online loans and gambling in society.
“WSI urges the public to be aware of and avoid the negative effects of online loans,” she stressed.
