Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister (Wamen) of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) Veronica Tan encourages the public to use the Free Health Check (CKG) facility for early disease detection and improved health quality.

"Let's Indonesian people, let's come to the Puskesmas to be able to get a free health check. This is a state gift for the community. Check your health, once a year. Don't be afraid," said Veronica Tan at Penjaringan Puskesmas, North Jakarta, Monday.

She also asked women not to hesitate to undergo the IVA test and DNA HPV test in CKG, whose aim is to detect cervical cancer.

"For women, to (undergo) IVA test, it is not a taboo. Because prevention is better than treatment," Veronica Tan said.

While the Head of the Ministry of Health Communication and Information Bureau (Kemenkes) Aji Muhawarman added that there are currently no restrictions on conducting CKG at the Puskesmas.

"CKG is now opened every day. Then there are no quotas anymore. So we expect the community to immediately check their health," Muhawarman said.

He also praised Veronica Tan, who came with her two sons to undergo CKG at the Penjaringan Health Center.

"Ms. Deputy Minister, thank you for setting an example as a community leader and public official. Coming with your family shows an awareness of the importance of maintaining health," Muhawarman said.

By detecting disease in the early stages, prevention and treatment can be done faster, preventing diseases from becoming more serious and complex.

"The mindset needs to change. Instead of waiting for new illnesses to appear at the Puskesmas, we should detect diseases early through CKG," Muhawarman said.
