“We have prepared 800 tons of aid that will be airdropped by the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) in cooperation with the air forces of Jordan and Egypt,” Baznas head Noor Achmad said at a press conference here on Wednesday.
He informed that the first 80 tons of aid will be delivered to the people of Palestine on August 17, 2025, coinciding with Indonesia’s 80th independence anniversary, and the rest will be delivered in stages afterward.
Achmad said that the aid is being sent under the direct instruction of President Prabowo Subianto, who is lobbying external parties to ensure the aid reaches Palestine.
“Entering Palestinian territory is very difficult. Nevertheless, with the President’s directive and facilitation, this aid can be distributed,” he added.
He affirmed that the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) has a special plan to distribute the aid via airdrop, which had previously raised concerns among many parties.
He said that a TNI AU Hercules aircraft left Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in Jakarta with the aid, comprising instant noodles, cheese, tuna, biscuits, packaged juice, butter, canned foods, and ketchup, on Wednesday morning.
Achmad expressed gratitude for the support of relevant parties in the aid delivery, including the Indonesian embassies in Egypt and Jordan, as well as Baznas’ partners in the two countries.
