The milestone was reached on August 17, coinciding with Indonesia's 80th Independence Day.
"This achievement reflects the strong enthusiasm of Japanese people and the international community for the Indonesia Pavilion, which carries the theme ‘Thriving in Harmony: Nature, Culture, Future’," said Rahmat Mulianda, director of the Indonesia Pavilion, in a statement on Monday.
The two-millionth visitor, a Tokyo resident, received a prize of a round-trip flight ticket from Japan to Bali along with a three-day hotel voucher.
Mulianda said more free ticket prizes will be offered to visitors until the pavilion achieves its target of 2.8 million visitors.
From April to mid-August, the pavilion has featured a range of programs, including business forums, business matching events, investment promotions, exhibitions on crafts, fashion, and food, as well as daily art performances.
So far, it has hosted 51 business forums involving ministries, agencies, regional governments, and both Indonesian and international companies.
According to Mulianda, the milestone achieved on the 80th Independence Day has motivated the organizing team to provide the best experiences to visitors.
"The Indonesia Pavilion will continue to present diverse art performances, Indonesian cuisine, and environmentally friendly innovations that embody the spirit of sustainable development," he remarked.
He expressed hope that the pavilion's success will positively impact Indonesia’s tourism, trade, and investment.
