Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto expressed his respect for the legal process being conducted by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on the sting operation (OTT) against Deputy Minister of Manpower Immanuel Ebenezer.

"The President has received the report and noted that this is a legal matter. He respects the KPK's procedures and welcomes the legal process to be carried out as it should be," Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi remarked in a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday.

According to Hadi, the president said that if Ebenezer is proven guilty, the government would immediately find his replacement.

"If proven guilty, the replacement will be carried out as soon as possible," the minister confirmed.

On that occasion, he also expressed his concern over the sting operation against a member of the Red and White Cabinet.

He reiterated President Prabowo's message that every state official must always be cautious and not abuse the trust placed in them.

"The President often reminds us all that we must remain cautious. We should not abuse the trust given to us. We express our deep concern over this case," Hadi continued.

On Thursday, the KPK conveyed that the OTT against Deputy Minister of Manpower Immanuel Ebenezer was related to alleged extortion for occupational health and safety (OHS) certification.

"The case is related to the OHS certification extortion," KPK Deputy Chairman Fitroh Rohcahyanto informed.

He explained that the alleged extortion was carried out by Ebenezer against several companies. The anti-graft agency has also seized dozens of two- and four-wheeled vehicles owned by Ebenezer during the operation.

"There were dozens of cars, also including a Ducati motorcycle," Rohcahyanto added.

A sum of cash was also seized in the sting operation, along with 10 other people arrested related to the case. The KPK has 24 hours to determine the status of the arrested parties.
