"Today we were instructed to send a company of Brimob personnel to assist with security there (in Jakarta)," Head of Public Relations of Central Kalimantan Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Erlan Munaji said in Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan on Saturday.
He explained that this assistance is to ensure the security of the demonstration in Jakarta proceeds safely.
However, security at the Central Kalimantan Regional Police remained tight to prevent any untoward incidents.
"Personnel will remain in Jakarta indefinitely or until the situation there is truly conducive," he said.
Munaji advised Brimob personnel under operational control (BKO) to maintain their personal and group health.
He also reminded them to carry out their duties professionally, proportionally, procedurally, and responsibly.
"Always pray to Allah SWT, so that we can continue to provide optimal protection, care, and service to the people," he said.
He also explained that the deployment represents the National Police's support in maintaining national security and stability.
With this BKO, it is hoped that the situation in Jakarta will remain conducive, allowing the public to express their aspirations in an orderly manner.
He added that all personnel dispatched have received thorough guidance and preparation before carrying out their duties. This was crucial so that each member can face various situations humanistically, while remaining firm, when needed.
"The point is, this deployment is a mandate that must be carried out with full responsibility. We hope for the prayers and support from the people of Central Kalimantan, so that all personnel stay safe while on duty and return to their regions," he said.
