Head of the Polri Professional and Security Bureau at the Professional Supervision and Development Division, Brigadier General Agus Wijayanto, stated that Commissioner (Kompol) K was seated next to Chief Brigadier (Bripka) R, who was driving the vehicle.
“Kompol K held the position of Battalion Commander (Danyon) of the Mobile Brigade (Brimob) Corps Regiment IV. He was seated in the front, to the left of the driver,” Wijayanto said at the National Police Public Relations Building here on Monday.
Bripka R, who drove the tactical vehicle, has also been deemed to have committed a major violation.
“Bripka R is a member of the Brimob unit at Metro Jaya Regional Police, serving as the driver of tactical vehicle PJJ 17713-VII,” he added.
According to Wijayanto, personnel found guilty of major violations may face prosecution and are subject to dishonorable discharge.

Meanwhile, the actions of five other members of the Mobile Brigade Unit from Metro Jaya Regional Police who were also in the vehicle—Aipda R, Briptu D, Bripda M, Bharaka J, and Bharaka Y—were categorized as moderate violations.
“These five members fall into the moderate category. They were seated in the rear as passengers,” Wijayanto stated.
Personnel in the moderate category may face sanctions imposed by the Police Professional Ethics Commission (KKEP).
“Possible sanctions include special placement, reassignment or demotion, postponement of promotion, and delay of education. All decisions will be based on the facts presented during the professional ethics hearing,” he explained.
All seven personnel have now been declared in violation of the police code of ethics and have been placed under special placement for 20 days, from August 29 to September 17, 2025.
The incident involving the Brimob tactical vehicle and online motorcycle taxi driver Affan Kurniawan occurred on Thursday (August 28) evening, following the dispersal of demonstrators by police near the parliamentary complex in Jakarta.
