“I will carry out my duties in line with the president’s direction and the Astacita, the main eight goals, we must fulfill in this administration,” Mukhtarudin said at a press conference at the Presidential Palace Complex.
While President Prabowo has yet to assign specific tasks, Mukhtarudin, who is also head of the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI), stressed the importance of fully realizing Astacita, especially given the critical role of protecting migrant workers.
The former House of Representatives member said his first agenda after inauguration is to meet ministry staff. He added he will continue previous programs as long as they align with the president’s vision.

“Yes, we will carry on programs initiated by the previous minister that support the Astacita goals. No further specifics have been given,” Mukhtarudin said.
He expressed gratitude to President Prabowo for the appointment and acknowledged that the cabinet reshuffle is the president’s prerogative.
“This is the president’s decision, a normal part of government practice,” he said.
Mukhtarudin was sworn in Monday at the State Palace, replacing Abdul Kadir Karding. The inauguration followed Presidential Decree Number 86P of 2025, which formalized ministerial changes for the Red and White Cabinet’s 2024-2029 term.
Before this appointment, Mukhtarudin served as secretary of the Golkar Party faction in the House of Representatives.
