Susiwijono Moegiarso, Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, said on Tuesday that the government had recently received a letter from the Ministry of Industry and was now reviewing the final details of the incentive provisions.
"Since the implementation timeline has been delayed, and we only just received the letter, we decided to integrate it into the economic stimulus package," he said.
He stressed that the electric motorcycle incentive program will proceed, but as part of the broader stimulus initiative. However, the specific amount and timing of the incentives are still being discussed.
"We are currently reviewing all economic stimulus programs for the third quarter. The Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs is also preparing several programs for 2026. Now that we have received the letter, we are reassessing everything," he explained.
Moegiarso noted that the government is looking for ways to make the incentive mechanism more accessible, acknowledging that previous programs had not run optimally.
"We have not yet discussed the technical details with the Ministry of Industry," he added.
Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita earlier said his ministry had prepared an electric motorcycle incentive scheme and was ready to implement it once the budget and schedule were set by the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs.
The government is also finalizing follow-up policies for stimulus measures disbursed in June–July. The Ministry of Finance has allocated Rp10.8 trillion (around US$743 million) in stimulus funds for Q3 to sustain national economic growth.
