In a statement received on Thursday, Hanggodo emphasized his commitment to disaster mitigation throughout Indonesia.
"We continue to prioritize the safety and comfort of affected communities. We will provide full support in addressing the impact of the flooding in Bali," he ensured.
His party has deployed heavy equipment and emergency response teams to expedite the water receding process and reopen national roads that were flooded on Wednesday (September 10).
Among the flood-damaged roads now repaired are the Muntur TLB Bridge at Km 6+400, the Dewaruci Underpass, and Kargo Road at Km 4+800 and Km 5+100 in Denpasar.
Then, Jalan Mengwitani Km 11+500, Jalan A. Yani (Tabanan) Km 16+825, Jalan A. Yani – Jalan Udayana (Negara) Km 96+800, Jalan Sudirman – Gajahmada (Negara) Km 90+980, Pekutatan – Antosari Km 41+600, and Kosamba – Angentelu Km 54+400.
The ministry has also deployed personnel from a rapid response team on standby around the clock at the disaster site, along with heavy equipment if needed.
Further identification has been conducted by checking infrastructure and monitoring conditions on the ground to ensure the response process is running smoothly, Hanggodo added.
In addition, two mobile pump units have been deployed to expedite the process of reducing floodwaters. Flood debris removal is also being carried out at various strategic locations.
Based on data from the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) as of Wednesday, flooding has affected six districts/cities, namely Denpasar, Jembrana, Gianyar, Klungkung, Badung, and Tabanan.
The flooding has claimed nine fatalities (five in Denpasar, two in Jembrana, one in Gianyar, and one in Badung), with two people missing.
The agency recorded that 202 families, or 620 people, were affected by the flooding caused by heavy rains since Tuesday.
According to the latest monitoring by the Bali Penida River Basin Center (BWS), the water level in the Muara Reservoir, which previously reached 190 cm, has now dropped to 130 cm. This monitoring indicates that the flood situation is gradually under control.
