The announcement was made by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya on Sunday.
Wijaya stated that President Prabowo will speak third in the lineup, following Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and United States President Donald Trump.
He emphasized that this year’s General Assembly marks a significant moment for Indonesia.
“By returning to the highest level of the UN forum, Indonesia will reaffirm its role as a leader of the Global South, consistently advocating for reforms in global governance to make it more just and inclusive,” he said.
President Prabowo arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York on Saturday (Sept. 20), landing at approximately 16:50 local time.
During his visit, the president is scheduled to deliver his address at the General Debate and hold bilateral meetings with several world leaders, including a meeting with UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
His presence at the international forum underscores Indonesia’s ongoing commitment to promoting peace, enhancing global cooperation, and advancing national interests on the world stage.
President Prabowo is accompanied by several senior officials, including Indonesian Ambassador to the US Dwisuryo Indroyono Soesilo, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, and Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan Perkasa Roeslani.
Also joining the delegation are Minister of Human Rights Natalius Pigai, Danantara Chief Investment Officer Pandu Sjahrir, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Presidential Special Envoy for Climate and Energy Hashim Djojohadikusumo, and Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Anindya Bakrie.
