"We will tighten the protocols, including specific cooking schedules in the morning and afternoon".Metro City, Lampung (ANTARA) - Population and Family Development Minister Wihaji said the government will tighten the standard operating procedures (SOP) of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program to prevent incidents of food poisoning.
"Regarding the MBG program, the government will make every effort to ensure its smooth implementation. I want to emphasize that we must avoid any issues like those that have occurred somewhere," Wihaji said during a working visit in Lampung, on Thursday.
He affirmed the government’s commitment to continuously evaluate the program while remaining open to public input and criticism.
"To prevent any unwanted incidents, we will further tighten the SOP of the free nutritious meal program," he noted.
Wihaji explained that his side wants to ensure the program runs without issues, particularly for its main beneficiaries, namely pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers.
On that occasion, he inspected several Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) or MBG kitchens in Kalirejo Sub-district, Central Lampung District, and Metro City.
"We will tighten the protocols, including specific cooking schedules in the morning and afternoon. Evaluations are ongoing, and we welcome any feedback. What matters most is our dedication to serving the children in the best way possible," he said.
He added that the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) continues to work closely with various stakeholders to ensure similar cases do not recur in the future.
"We will monitor this program together. It requires collective oversight. Any previous incidents are being addressed and we are doing our utmost to prevent them from happening again," he added.
