"One of the topics discussed was the MBG program, including the implementation and several evaluations to ensure the program runs smoothly and on target," he conveyed in a statement on Monday.
During the meeting, Wijaya said that the president directly provided detailed and technical guidance on the program.
"President Prabowo provided very detailed, even highly technical, instructions, for example, regarding discipline, procedures, and especially cleanliness," Wijaya continued.
President Prabowo Subianto led a meeting with several ministers of the Red and White Cabinet at his private residence on Jalan Kertanegara, Jakarta, on Sunday evening (September 28).
The two-hour meeting was convened to ensure that key government programs were progressing as planned and meeting their targets.
Wijaya informed that this meeting, held immediately after President Prabowo's return from an overseas trip, and despite falling on a Sunday, demonstrated his commitment to directly monitoring government programs.
Besides the MBG program, the meeting also discussed several other strategic programs, including food security, public health, energy, maritime affairs, the Fishermen's Village program, Village Cooperatives, and the construction of the North Java Sea Wall, he continued.
According to him, the Ministry of Agriculture, along with the Head of the Logistics Agency (Bulog), reported at the meeting that national rice reserves remained sufficient.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Health also outlined the achievements of the free health check-up program, which has reached approximately 36 million people.
Regarding the MBG poisoning incidents, the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) announced last week that from January to September 2025, there were 70 food safety incidents, including poisoning, affecting 5,914 MBG recipients.
Of these 70 poisoning cases, the primary cause was several types of bacteria found, including E. coli in water, rice, tofu, and chicken.
Furthermore, Staphylococcus aureus in tempeh and meatballs, Salmonella in chicken, eggs, and vegetables, Bacillus cereus in noodles, and coliform, PB, Klebsiella, and Proteus in contaminated water.
