Banda Aceh (ANTARA) - Indonesia's National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) distributed logistical and emergency response assistance worth Rp32.6 billion (US$1.96 million) in Aceh between 2023 and 2025.

"This assistance includes pre-disaster support, mitigation efforts, preparedness training, and well-drilling," BNPB head Suharyanto said after a coordination meeting on disaster management in Banda Aceh on Tuesday.

He added that BNPB also provides for communities' basic needs after floods, landslides, and other natural disasters.

"After a disaster, we ensure basic needs are met, including through budgetary assistance," he said.

Suharyanto noted that the aid aims to support refugees, facilitate evacuations, and maintain emergency response operations.

Data show 28 types of assistance were provided to Aceh during 2023–2025, including basic necessities, public kitchens, clothing packages, mattresses, and ready-to-eat meals.

BNPB also supports post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction. For 2025, 10 districts and cities in Aceh have been proposed to receive grants, with proposals already submitted to the Ministry of Finance.
