Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto on Friday inaugurated ten members of the National Police Reform Committee at Merdeka Palace, marking a key step in advancing internal reform within the Indonesian National Police.

The committee is chaired by Jimly Asshiddiqie, former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (2003–2008), who also serves as a member. The inauguration follows Presidential Decree Number 122P of 2025 on the Appointment of Members of the National Police Reform Committee.

Alongside Jimly, the other nine members include National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo; Presidential Adviser for Public Security and Police Reform Ahmad Dofiri; Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra; and Deputy Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections Otto Hasibuan.

Also appointed were Minister of Home Affairs and former National Police Chief General (Ret.) Tito Karnavian; Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas; former Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Mahfud MD; former National Police Chiefs General (Ret.) Idham Aziz and General (Ret.) Badrodin Haiti.

The ceremony began with the national anthem, “Indonesia Raya,” followed by the reading of the Presidential Decree.

President Prabowo led the oath of office, which members repeated in unison: “I pledge to remain faithful and firmly uphold the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, and to carry out all laws and regulations as righteously as possible for the sake of my service to the nation and the state.”

Following the oath, Jimly signed the inauguration minutes, and President Prabowo personally greeted and congratulated each member.

High-ranking officials attending included Coordinating Ministers Djamari Chaniago, Airlangga Hartarto, Zulkifli Hasan, and Pratikno; Ministers Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Sugiono, Prasetyo Hadi, and Agus Andrianto.

The committee is tasked with formulating comprehensive, sustainable policies on police reform to enhance professionalism and integrity, responding to public calls for institutional reform highlighted in August 2025.
