“With this addition, the total number of Universal Post Services units now reaches 2,460,” Communication and Digital Affairs Minister Meutya Hafid said in Deli Serdang, Medan, on Sunday.
She confirmed that among the 92 newly inaugurated units, 14 are located in East Nusa Tenggara, nine in East Kalimantan, and another nine in Lampung.
Minister Hafid expressed hope that the expansion of these branches would strengthen the implementation of President Prabowo Subianto’s aid program.
The new units are also expected to improve postal services in various regions and stimulate local economies, particularly in remote and underdeveloped areas.
“Those who send packages or products from micro, small, and medium enterprises will have better access, assisted by PT Pos Indonesia,” the minister said.
In the third week of October 2025, President Prabowo directed the government to ensure that around 35 million beneficiary families receive their cash assistance by the end of November.
She expressed optimism that the aid will positively impact the economic well-being of about 140 million Indonesians.
The inauguration of the new Universal Post Services units also coincides with the commemoration of National Heroes Day on November 10.
Hafid expressed hope that the initiative would inspire couriers to continue delivering packages and letters across the country.
She added that those working at PT Pos Indonesia deserve to be recognized as heroes, given their essential role in connecting people.
