Jakarta (ANTARA) - Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi stressed that an efficient and modern logistics system is crucial for strengthening Indonesia’s national economic structure.

He made the remarks while closing the Forum Indonesia Logistic Outlook 2026 and the Indonesian Logistics and Forwarders Association (ALFI) Conference & Exhibition 2025 in Tangerang, Banten.

“President Prabowo Subianto has prioritized strengthening the national economic structure. The key to achieving a strong economy is an efficient, integrated, and modern national logistics system,” he said in a ministry's statement here on Sunday.

The minister described logistics as the lifeblood of a nation’s economy and expressed hope that Indonesia could become a modern logistics hub in the Asia-Pacific region.

He emphasized that the participation of logistics players, exporters, importers, forwarders, industrialists, and academics in the forum demonstrates that logistics transformation cannot be achieved by the government alone.

“With the strong commitment and enthusiasm shown in this forum, we have high hopes that Indonesia’s logistics ecosystem can move together, strengthen each other, and lead logistics transformation in Southeast Asia,” he said.

ALFI currently represents over 4,000 member companies across 33 provinces, all directly involved in domestic and international goods movement.

The forum serves as a vital platform for outlining strategic policies and unifying steps to enhance Indonesia’s supply chain competitiveness.

He noted that strengthening logistics aligns with Prabowo-Gibran's Asta Cita missions, which aim to boost economic growth, create jobs, expand micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) access to global supply chains, empower local economies, stabilize prices, and control inflation.

In addition, the minister reaffirmed his commitment to accelerating the implementation of the zero over-dimension and over-load (Zero ODOL) policy by 2027.

He also highlighted ALFI’s active role in addressing ODOL issues and stressed that their support will be important to achieving Zero ODOL without reducing logistics efficiency in the field.
