Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has deployed 276 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) to serve as emergency kitchens for residents displaced by floods and landslides in Aceh, West Sumatra and North Sumatra.

BGN Head Dadan Hindayana said in Jakarta on Wednesday that the units—part of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program—are designed to serve anyone in need during emergencies.

“A total of 276 SPPG units remain active in supporting evacuees, because when disaster strikes, assistance cannot be limited to children. All affected communities must be helped,” he said.

According to BGN data, 81 units are operating in Aceh, 129 in North Sumatra and 66 in West Sumatra.

Hindayana said each unit converted into an emergency kitchen provides one meal a day for evacuees. Funding is distributed directly to each SPPG.

“We deposit funds into every SPPG’s virtual account each month. During a disaster, schools close and many children end up in shelters. They must still be cared for, so we continue to serve them,” he said.

Flash floods swept through the three provinces on November 25.

The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) said on its official website that as of Wednesday, December 3, 2025, the death toll from the floods and landslides had risen to 804, with 634 still missing.
