“The data that are still being finalized by regional teams will serve as the basis for planning the proposed sustainable programs,” Minister Fauzi said in a statement on Tuesday.
She made the remarks while visiting a flood evacuation site on Alur Pakis Street, Harapan Makmur Village, Sei Lepan sub-district, Langkat District, North Sumatra.
Minister Fauzi explained that the ministry’s efforts include the prevention and handling of domestic violence, as well as strengthening women’s capacity and economic empowerment in a competitive manner aligned with local market needs.
She also called on all stakeholders to jointly strengthen the fulfillment of children’s rights and special protection in post-disaster emergency situations. This includes providing psychosocial assistance for flood victims throughout the recovery period until affected families are relocated to government-prepared housing.
During the visit, the ministry distributed aid to evacuees in the form of women’s and children’s specific needs, school supplies, and other educational materials.
The assistance is expected to support psychological recovery while helping children continue their learning activities during their stay at evacuation shelters.
The ministry emphasized that it will remain present and actively involved in protection and recovery efforts for women and children affected by disasters in various regions, as part of its commitment to realizing empowered women and protected children toward Golden Indonesia 2045.
Previously, the ministry, in collaboration with its partners, distributed targeted assistance to flood survivors in Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra, particularly to vulnerable groups such as women and children.
The aid packages included adolescent kits, adult women’s kits, daily necessities, and hygiene supplies, distributed through cooperation with various parties.
