Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Culture Fadli Zon affirmed the government’s commitment to promoting the revitalization of the Pasir Angin Site Museum in Bogor District, West Java, to make it more relevant to the public, especially the younger generation.

“This is a historical site that we hope to revitalize in the future and to complete with more comprehensive data on its findings, so that it can become more attractive for young people to visit and learn about the history of Pasir Angin,” Zon said in a statement here on Saturday.

He made the remarks while inspecting the Pasir Angin Site Museum in Pasir Angin Village, Cibungbulang Sub-district, Bogor District. The visit aimed to directly observe the richness of cultural remains and the site’s potential to be developed into a more open and contextual historical learning space for the public.

“At this site, we can see various layers of culture, from the Neolithic era, then the classical era, to the colonial era. There are many findings here, ranging from statues to other artifacts that are already equipped with descriptions,” Zon explained.

He noted that the Pasir Angin site does not stand alone, but is part of a broad historical landscape inseparable from the Cianten and Cisadane river areas, which historically served as centers of life, civilization, and trade.

One of the important findings from the area is a gold mask now kept at the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) Cibinong Office.

The Pasir Angin Site Museum preserves multiple cultural layers, from prehistoric to historical periods. The site was intensively studied from 1970 to 1975 by a team from the National Research Center for Archaeology under archaeologist R.P. Soejono, uncovering artifacts made of stone, metal, clay, glass, and pottery.
