The achievement was conveyed by BPOM Head Taruna Ikrar during a press conference event titled "Trace of 2025, Direction of 2026: Stories of Supervision and the Mission of Protection" here on Friday.
“The value comes from Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) from supervision services, as well as the economic value derived from findings through supervision, enforcement actions, and cyber patrols carried out by BPOM,” he said.
Ikrar said strong supervision not only protects public health but also makes a tangible contribution to the national economy.
In 2025, BPOM issued 6,653 Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certificates and 201,687 marketing authorization numbers for drugs and food products.
He added, BPOM was entrusted by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a Certifying Entity for the export of Cesium-137–free spices, with export values reaching around Rp50.9 billion.
On the post-market supervision side, BPOM conducted inspections of thousands of production and distribution facilities, as well as testing tens of thousands of drug and food samples.
BPOM also imposed strict sanctions, including the revocation of more than 1,000 marketing authorizations, to ensure that circulating products are safe and of good quality.
Throughout 2025, hundreds of thousands of online sales links for illegal products were taken down, with the potential prevention of economic losses reaching Rp49.82 trillion.
Looking ahead to 2026, BPOM is committed to strengthening risk-based supervision through the use of digital technology and artificial intelligence, expanding support for micro, small, and medium enterprises, and fully supporting national priority programs, including the Free Nutritious Meals Program (MBG).
