Based on data released by Statistics Indonesia (BPS), Jakarta’s economy in 2025 grew by 5.21 percent year on year, higher than the national economic growth of 5.11 percent.
“This means the strong growth was influenced by various activities held to welcome Christmas and New Year, which significantly affected public spending patterns,” he said here on Friday.
He said the Jakarta provincial government regularly organizes programs to encourage economic growth.
One of them is Jakarta Festive Wonders (JFW) 2025, a competition on transaction digitalization and decorations at shopping centers and hotels to stimulate consumption and accelerate innovation among mall, retail, and hotel managers.
“JFW 2025, which concluded last January, generated transactions worth Rp15.2 trillion, significantly contributing to Jakarta’s economic growth, which in the third quarter reached close to 5 percent and was well above that level,” Anung said.
Overall, he said Jakarta’s contribution to national gross domestic product in 2025 was high at 16.61 percent.
In addition, throughout 2025 most business sectors recorded positive growth nationwide.
“We would also like to convey that sectors performing well in Jakarta in 2025 were accommodation as well as food and beverage services, which repeatedly received incentives and exemptions and saw even better growth, followed by transportation, warehousing, and other services,” he said.
He stressed that the Jakarta provincial government consistently supports efforts to achieve the 2026 national inflation target of 2.5 percent plus or minus 1 percent, keep volatile food inflation within the 3-5 percent range, and control inflation during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr period.
