Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Creative Economy Ministry promotes Indonesian publishers' involvement in global forums to showcase high-quality books for international audiences and strengthen the industry's competitiveness and bargaining position in the global market.

Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, stated that the participation of Indonesian publisher, Kreatifafa, in global forums could be a strategic opportunity to market the copyrights of books by Indonesian creators while building networks with international publishers and distributors.

“The ministry is committed to strengthening support for Kreatifafa, expanding its reach beyond the domestic market to the global stage, while blending educational material with interactive visuals through engaging pop-up book formats,” Umar stated in a press release received in Jakarta on Friday.

The publisher and creative studio Kreatifafa have been officially selected as participants in the 2026 Istanbul Publishing Fellowship Program in Turkiye.

The ministry believes that the Indonesian delegation's participation in Turkiye will help them learn about new technologies and trends in the publishing subsector globally.

The Istanbul Publishing Fellowship program, held from February 10-12 in Istanbul, Turkiye, is a prestigious global forum that brings together leaders, innovators, and creators from various countries to build cross-cultural collaborations and the future of education across generations.

The 2026 Istanbul Publishing Fellowship is a prestigious copyright market organized by the Turkish Press and Publishers Copyright & Licensing Society (TBYM) with the support of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

The ministry believes the program is capable of bringing together global publishers to showcase the potential of the creative industry, particularly the Indonesian publishing subsector.

Meanwhile, Kreatifafa CEO Fatchul Hidayah Clairine Yuzlar stressed that the company's main goal at the forum is to explore global collaboration opportunities in literacy and children’s education through pop-up books that are visually engaging and rich in creative value.

"The Istanbul Fellowship is a strategic step to prove that the work of Indonesian children has equal quality standards and is even capable of competing in the global market," Fatchul Hidayah said.
