... like diesel and gasoline, is above the minimum national standardJakarta (ANTARA) -
Indonesia Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia said national fuel and crude oil stocks remain above minimum levels despite Middle East geopolitical tensions, ensuring stable domestic supply.
He said the update was delivered after a limited cabinet meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday.
"I report that our national energy condition, both fuel products like diesel and gasoline, is above the minimum national standard," Bahlil said.
Indonesia’s energy resilience, he added, remains stable even as tensions around the Strait of Hormuz have persisted over the past two months without significantly disrupting domestic supply.
"For nearly two months, since the Middle East geopolitical situation around the Strait of Hormuz, we remain stable," he said.

Crude oil stocks for refineries are also secure and above mandated minimum levels, he added, indicating no major supply constraints.
On liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), he said Indonesia continues to seek alternatives in reducing import dependence, as annual consumption reaches 8.6 million tons while domestic production stands at about 1.6-1.7 million tons.
Indonesia imports around 7 million tons of LPG annually, constrained by limited feedstock supply of propane (C3) and butane (C4), which hampers domestic industry development.
"For LPG, we are constantly working on solutions. Almost every night, we continue studying potential sources," Bahlil said.
As long-term solutions, the government is considering converting low-calorie coal into dimethyl ether (DME) and expanding the use of compressed natural gas (CNG).
"This is still under discussion and will be finalized. It is one of the best alternatives to strengthen our energy independence in the LPG sector," he said.
