Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Attorney General`s Office (AGO) plans to disclose the results of its investigation into alleged prisoner swaps in Bojonegoro, East Java, on Wednesday (Dec 5), a spokesman said.

Deputy Attorney General for Supervision Marwan Effendy said here on Tuesday, Attorney General Basrief Arief himself would make the announcement.

"Tomorrow (Wednesday), the attorney general will announce the results of the investigation to the public at a press conference," he said.

East Java`s High Prosecutor`s Office on Monday questioned Hendro Sasmito, head of the office`s special crimes section, and Widodo, the office`s driver, in connection with the case.

It had also questioned Atmari, a Bojonegoro penitentiary warden, and Karni the one who had replaced prisoner Kasiem.

He said reports from the East Java office had been recieved by the Attorney General Office.

"The East Java prosecutor`s office`s proposal for an imposition of a disciplinary action meanwhile is still being studied. I have asked for the results of the investigation to be immediately given to me for immediate submission to the attorney general," Marwan said.

As has been reported the case was known on Friday (Dec 31) after Kasiem (55) jailed for three months and 15 days in connection with a subsidized fertilizer case asked Karni (50) to take her place in the cell in exchange for a Rp10 million payment.

After four days in the cell the case was unveiled by jail warden who discovered a different person in the cell.

Basrief Arief has earlier ordered Marwan Effendi to investigate the practice.(*)
