During his fall, Edo, a Proklamasi University student in Yogyakarta, sustained a head wound after hitting a rock and was found dead at the foot of the hill which was situated about 100 meters from the crop circle.
"I was with Edo and another friend when we tried to get a better view of the UFO (Unidentified Flying Object) phenomenon by climbing Suru hill," said Enuwari.
Enuwari said by the time they were on the hill top, heavy rain fell accompanied by lightning.
Apparently Edo was frightened by the bolts of lightning which caused him to slip and go down the 200-meter high hill.
"I felt a small electrical surge underneath my feet, a shocking experience, Edo might have felt it too and this probably caused him to slip and fall off the hill," he said.
According to Enuwari, a local officer warned them to come down because rain was coming and would make the terrain very slippery, but they ignored the warning.
"We almost reached the hill top when the officers warned us, then we decided to move on and continue our hike," he said.
Enuwari was not sure whether Edo slipped or was struck by lighting that occurred several times.
"I don`t know for sure whether Edo was struck by lightning or not, but the lightning struck many times," Enuwari said.
Edo`s body was now still lying at the scene and waiting for the local Search and Rescue (SAR) or Red Cross (PMI) team to arrive and transport him to a nearby hospital.
The Yogyakartan crop circle was discovered on Monday on a paddy field in Rejosari hamlet, Berbah sub-district, Sleman district, and the mystery is also now under a number of governmental agencies investigation to prove the "alien activity" or man made crop circle.(*)
