All the eight police personnel identified by their initials as S, A, AK, S, AS, DJ, DS and S would later be tried for violating the police code of ethics and profession.Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Police have questioned eight of their personnel in connection with a recent clash between Ahmadiyah sect followers and residents in Cikeusik subdistrict, Pandeglang district, Banten province.
"Right now eight police officders have been questioned," National Police spokesman Sr Comr Boy Rafli Amar said here on Wednesday.
"We are currently waiting for the results of their questioning which are expected to be available as early as next week," he said.
All the eight police personnel identified by their initials as S, A, AK, S, AS, DJ, DS and S would later be tried for violating the police code of ethics and profession, he said.
He said former chief of the Pandeglang police resort, former director of intelligence and security and former chief of Banten provincial police would be questioned at the National Police Headquarters.
The February 6 clash left three people dead and five others injured.
By last Thursday police have detained seven people for their alleged part in the clash.
A team of police investigators from the national police headquarters, Banten regional and Pandeglang district police commands had until last Wednesday questioned around 80 witnesses.
Some of the witnesses are local villagers, police members and Ahmadiyah followers.(*)
