Jakarta (ANTARA News) - A political observer said here on Thursday he believed ministers from the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) would be replaced if President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono finally decided to reshuffle his cabinet.

The observer, Yunarto Wijaya, who is director of Charta Politika, said however that it was still difficult to predict how many ministers from the party would be replaced.

Yunarto is optimistic President Yudhoyono would conduct a limited reshuffle on his cabinet but when it would be done it would depend upon the president`s needs.

He said PKS now has four ministers in the cabinet namely communications and information minister Tifatul Sembiring, agriculture minister Suswono, social affairs minister Salim Segaf Al-Jufri and minister of research and technology Suhana Surapranata.

He said it was not impossible that one or two or even three of the four ministers would be replaced.

Yunarto said if only ministers from the PKS would be replaced he believed a political upheaval would happen.

In view of that he said he predicted President Yudhoyono would also replace ministers from Golkar Party or Democrat Party with other figures from the same parties.

"A cabinet reshuffle politically will benefit the President as the public has so far viewed him as an undecided man resulting from the reshuffle discourse several months ago," he said.

In view of PKS he said the replacement of its ministers in the cabinet or the ousting of the party from the government`s coalition would still give the party a political wisdom and value.

Based on a survey PKS gets support from two bases namely ideological and critical mass bases.

He said "the critical mass has been disappointed by PKS`s presence in the government so that they have left it."

If PKS later stays outside the government, he said, the party could win the hearts of the critical mass again to increase its vote collection in the next general elections in 2014.(*)
