The attention of the PD was not focused on the chairman of the Setgab but on the way how political parties who were members of the joint secretariat, were committed to the political contracts they had agreed upon in 2009.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Democrat Party has no intention to call for the replacement of the executive chairman of the joint secretariat (Setgab) of political parties supporting the government, its chairman said.

"There is no urgency for the Democrat Party (PD) to encourage the replacement of the Setgab executive chairman," Chairman of the Democrat Party (PD), Anas Urbaningrum said here on Wednesday.

He made the remarks on the sidelines of a rice grand harvest at Dukuh village, Palimanan subdistrict, Cirebon Regency, West Java.

Those attending the grand harvest event included PD Secretary General Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono, chief of the PD for agricultural department Herman Khaeron and the chairman of the PD faction in the House, Mohammad Jafar Hafsah.

He said that the attention of the PD was not focused on the chairman of the Setgab but on the way how political parties who were members of the joint secretariat, were committed to the political contracts they had agreed upon in 2009.

"The political parties have signed the contracts and they have agreed to support the government until 2014," he said.

He said that the willingness of PD was simple, namely the establishment of a solid and strong coalition and would be consequent with the political contracts they have signed.

If all political parties adopted and were committed to the political contracts they had signed, Anas was optimistic the coalition could be solid so that the administration would run well.

Regarding the position of the Setgab position, Anas said that in the Setgab there were six political parties which were members of the alliance.

PD`s chief patron Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono who is also president of the Republic of Indonesia, has filled in the position of the Setgab executive chairman and is the party`s chief patron.

Member of the advisory council Syarif Hasan has also occupied the position as the Setgab secretary.

"It is enough so that the DP has no intention to question the position of the Setgab chairman," he said.(*)
