"I have received reports that in several areas deviations and violations had taken place, which need to be eradicated immediately, as this is a very big program," he said during a discussion with Jambi leaders on Friday.
He said the people`s welfare program has been quite a success in many regions, and in this case he did not want the program to become counterproductive.
He also reminded on the need of synchronization of welfare programs between the central government and the regional administrations, and avoid overlapping.
He also appreciated the efforts of the Jambi provincial administration which had also been launching and promoting welfare programs.
In the meantime, when opening the Jambi Emas Expo 2011, the vice president also called on the regions to take active part in the development of hard and soft infrastructure. He said hard infrastructure like roads, ports, power plants would not operate optimally without soft infrastructure like facilities in doing business and security.(*)
