Washington (ANTARA News/AFP) - The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights called Thursday for a probe of the death of Bolivian journalist David Nino de Guzman, who was killed last week in La Paz by an unidentified explosive device.

The commission`s special rapporteur for freedom of expression urged investigators not to "rule out the possibility that the causes of his death are related to his job as a journalist," the commission said in a statement.

Nino, 42, was news director of the La Paz-based Catholic news agency Fides.

He was reported missing two days before his April 21 death. Nino had been a journalist for 16 years and worked for several top Bolivian newspapers. (*)
