Jakarta (ANTARA News) - House Commission X which deals with sports and youth affairs was not involved in an alleged bribery case in the construction of a SEA Games` athlete house in Palembang, South Sumatra, a legislator said.

"After it conducted an internal verification and clarification it is concluded that none of its members was involved," Commission X member Jefri Riwu Kore said here on Saturday.

He said that the results of the verification indicated that the three members who were initially indicated to have been involved turned out to be clean.

The three were Commission X chairman Muhyudin and two commission members I Wayan Koster and Angelina Sondakh.

He said that the internal verification of the Commission had been completed and the result was that all members of the commission were clean.

The bribery case allegation came to the surface when the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrested Sports and Youth Affairs Minister`s Secretary Wafid Muharram in his office room on April 21, 2011.

The KPK officials found evidence in the form a check worth Rp3.2 billion when the suspect received Marketing Director of PT Anak Negeri Mindo Rosalina Manulang and Marketing Director of PT Duta Graha Indah Muhammad El Idris.(*)
