Bandung, West Java (ANTARA News) - About 250 auxiliary teachers grouped in the Honorary Teachers Federation (FGH) held a rally in front of West Java governor`s office on Wednesday demanding for improvement of their welfare.

Head of FGH for West Java Ria Irawan Diredja said the fate of auxiliary teachers in West Java raised serious concern as their average payment was only about Rp250,000 per month.

"The salary of honorary teachers actually varies but that of West Java`s auxiliary teachers is very saddening because it only is about Rp250 per month," Tia Irawan said on the sidelines of the rally.

She said that the number of time teachers in West Java was about 300,000. "We have the duties similar to those of civil servant teachers but we have received different attention," she added.

Ria said that the auxiliary teachers demanded that the West Java provincial government should provide them with regional allowances taken from the regional government budget.
