"Stopping bloodshed among the citizens of one nation, respecting the law, enhancing the human rights and respecting people`s will are priorities on the Arab agendas," said the statement.
Cairo (ANTARA News/Xinhua-OANA) - The Arab Parliament (AP) called on Arab countries not to interfere with armies in conflicts with their people in it`s ordinary session in the Arab League headquarter Sunday in Cairo, Egyptian state news agency MENA reported.

The AP expressed its worries concerning the internal clashes in some Arab countries and asserting the importance of maintaining territorial integrity and the interests of people, said a statement released after the session.

The statement affirmed its rejection of using force and military rule, and called for opening national dialogue among different political factions in Arab countries including the opposition forces.

"Stopping bloodshed among the citizens of one nation, respecting the law, enhancing the human rights and respecting people`s will are priorities on the Arab agendas," said the statement.

Speaker of the AP Ali Salem al-Deqbasi called for taking decisive action regarding Syria and described the resolution by the AP political affairs department on situations in Arab countries as weak and shameful.

Deqbasi said he was under threats and pressures not to raise the serious situation in Syria and Bahrain.

He added that AP cannot keep silent towards violence against protesters in Arab countries and it should find ways to address this situation according to document of development and modernization that was adopted in the Arab summit in Tunis in 2004.

The principles of this document are consolidation of democracy, promotion of freedoms and respect of laws, achieving Arab economic integration.

The Arab Parliament was approved to be established by the Arab summit in Amman of Jordan in 2001. (C003)
