Three judges of the Mataram District Court in West Nusa Tenggara read the verdict on Mondaym saying that Cow was proven violating Article 113 and Article 114 of Law Number 35 of 2009 on narcotics.
Chow Kit Nang alias Cow was guilty of importing non-plant grade one narcotic drug weighing more than five grams or 3.17 kilograms of the drug from Malaysia.
Upon hearing the verdict Cow immediately said he would appeal it and had seven days to file his appeal to the Higher Court of Mataram.
Chow`s trial had been going on since February 9. Chow was caught carrying the drug worth Rp6 billion upon arrival at Selaparang airport here at 7.15pm on November 2, 2010, aboard Merpati Nusantara Airlines Flight Number MZ831 serving the Kuala Lumpur-Surabaya-Mataran route.
Customs officers at the airport was suspicious when seeing an image analysis of stuff put on the wall of a bag on the X-Ray Scanner and paid special to it.
Chow as the owner of the bag later took the bag and when he walked past the Baggage Check Point he was stopped and his bag was thoroughly examined.
When customes officers sliced the wall of the bag open they discovered five aluminum foiled packages later found to contain quality methamphetamine.
After the findings Chow Kit Nang was then interrogated intensively before being handed over to the police.(Uu.H-YH/HAJM/O001)
