Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and other state institution chiefs have agreed to work in synergy to promote the more consistent an intensive application of the values ​of the state ideology of Pancasila in daily practice.

The president and state institution chiefs made their commitment in a joint statement issued after their meeting for about three hours at the Constitutional Court building here on Tuesday.

In addition to the president, the meeting was also attended by Vice President Boediono, the head of the People`s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Taufik Kiemas, House of Representatives chairman Marzuki Ali, Regional Representatives Council (DPD) Irman Gusman, Supreme Court chairman Harifin Tumpa, State Audit Agency (BPK) chairman Hadi Poernomo, the Attorney General`s Office, Judicial Commission (KY)Eman Suparman and the Constitutional Court (MK) chairman Prof Mahfud MD.

The state institution chiefs at the meeting, according to Mahfud MD, among others discussed the need of re-understanding of the Pancasila as the basis of the state ideology and to restore the people`s awareness that Pancasila has been proven to give guidance to the plurality of the nation.

Pancasila comprises the five principles of the Republic of Indonesia`s state ideology, namely belief in God Almighty, humanity that is just and civilized, the unity of Indonesia, democracy guided by the wisdom of representative deliberation, and social justice for all Indonesians.

Apart from that, the state institution chiefs also talked about the need to create the structured, systematic and massive movement

involving state agencies in all branches of the state power to revitalize, internalize, and implement the Pancasila values.

According to Mahfud, the meeting was aimed to seek the vision sharing in implementing the Pancasila in the life of the country.

Previously Mahfud said that the state must be saved, and one of the ways was to making the saving of the state ideology a national task.
