"Preparations for the evacuation of more Indonesians are still being made but it will all depend on the completeness of their documents," Aulia said when contacted by ANTARA on Saturday about the latest developments in the conflict-torn country.
On Wednesday (June 1) the embassy sent home the fifth batch of Indonesians totaling 17 people and now 66 more are still waiting at the embassy for their turn.
The ambassador said embassy staff members and Indonesian nationals in Yemen were all fine following recent fierce fighting between government forces and an armed tribal group led by Hamid Al Ahmar.
Various mass media in the Middle East meanwhile reported on Saturday that the opposition and armed tribal groups had taken control of several areas in Sanaa and narrowed the movement room of forces loyal to President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
President Saleh was reported to have been lightly injured on Saturday during an attack by the armed tribal group on the palace.
According to Pan-Arab newspaper Al Haya security situation has been worsening across the country especially in the capital Sanaa after the palace raid.(*)
